Facilities Management Service

Mission

FMS is an integrated service consisting of engineers, skilled journeyman, maintenance technicians, housekeepers, interior design, project planning and support personnel, biomedical equipment, and safety personnel. We provide maintenance and repair to buildings, grounds, and equipment; including biomedical; housekeeping services; utilities; furnishings; construction management; safety program management; environmental protection program management; and assist with emergency response. These services are provided for staff, patients and volunteers to support and enhance the patient care environment.

Vision

To provide a positive working environment where employee satisfaction is an essential element in providing exceptional engineering, maintenance, housekeeping and safety support to our veterans and peers to support the SORCC’s strategic vision to provide focused care in a Veteran centered environment. Further, our Quality Improvement Team efforts attain top-level customer satisfaction and maximize resource utilization. Transcend traditional maintenance practices moving toward predicting maintenance. Downtime intervention will be replaced with productivity. Integrate future technologies into all aspects of our mission in anticipation of the need. We strive to exemplify the spirit of quality.

Scope of Service

FMS is comprised of construction projects, biomedical, maintenance and repair, boiler plant operations, patient transportation, environmental management, environmental protection compliance, and safety and health.  FMS is responsible for:

  • Medical equipment maintenance, repairs, and support services
  • Physical plant maintenance, repairs, and support services
  • Construction planning
  • Construction management
  • Environmental management including energy conservation
  • Fire prevention training
  • Fire prevention / life safety inspections
  • Fire detection equipment testing, inspecting and maintenance
  • Emergency response program
  • Emergency preparedness program
  • Safety program management
  • Environmental protection program management
