Police Service

Mission/Vision

The Police Service provides for the welfare and safety of patients, employees and visitors of VA SORCC through a highly trained, visible organization that is responsible for site and personal security.

Scope of Service

The Police Service works to ensure the well being and security of the persons serve by:

  • Providing scheduled patrolling of facility grounds
  • Responding to missing patients
  • Monitoring and responding to alarms (duress, intrusion and fire)
  • Investigating and reporting on criminal activity
  • Writing Federal violations for crimes committed on VA property
  • Providing crime prevention and workplace violence training
  • Reporting any significant issues directly to the Director
  • Responding to staff alerts, disaster alerts and codes
