Volunteer Vacancies

MyHealtheVet – Assist Veterans in logging in and establishing their own access to their own medical records. Show them how to order prescription refills, and how to navigate the system.

Infection Control Volunteer/Assistant – Take cart containing hand-hygiene gel, facial masks, and tissues to stations throughout the facility and re-stock the stations.

Sleep Clinic Volunteer – Answering phones and assist in scheduling Veterans for appointments via VISTA and take vital signs

Caregiver Respite Volunteer – Provide non-medical respite for the caregiver by being a friendly companion for the Veteran so the caregiver can leave the home (1-2hours).

Caregiver Support Recreational Respite Volunteer – Provide a break for the caregiver by being a friendly companion for the Veteran while on Recreational Therapy sponsored outings.

DAV Transportation Driver – Transport outpatient to and from VA medical appointments (van provided, DAV  coordinated). SPECIAL NEED: Drivers for EARLY morning and afternoon runs to Roseburg.

DAV Transportation Office Assistant – Provide office assistance to Hospital Service Coordinator and VTN team.

Vocational Rehabilitation Drivers – Transport residents to job site in community (usually evening)

SATP Drivers – Transport residents to AA, NA, CA, etc. meetings in the community and return to facility.

Gift Shop Volunteer – Work with Veterans who have approval to participate in Project Hobby; Inventory resident craft items for sale in the Gift Shop; Handle Gift Shop sales and documentation. 1 day a week

VA SORCC Newsletter Journalist – Assist Community Resources/Public Affairs with providing informational, educational and promotional articles/photos for the facility’s newsletter.

Museum Manager/Curator (trainee) – Assist CRD with management and direction of Camp White Military Museum

Museum Greeter – Greet visitors to the Camp White Military Museum, provide assistance, and answer questions

Chapel Assistant – Acts as assistant to the secretary of Chaplain Service (couple hours a week?)

Greeter’s Desk – Located in the main entry of the outpatient clinic. Greeting Veterans and their families, providing directions, answering questions, assisting visitors with special needs.

Appointment Reminders – (Prosthetics & PM&R) – Call Veterans and send out mail to remind Veterans of appointments.

Optometry Clinic Volunteer – Assist clerks in filing, appointment reminders, basic office assistance.
